Hello,
I’ve created a couple of new event categories:
Events – upcoming
Events – past

I’d like to list each of them on a seperate page – how can I do this please? I tried inserting the short-code from each category into a page but it just lists blank. I’ve checked that the events are assigned to categories ok.

Thanks !

Hello,

May I ask what are the URLs of the pages and can you post the actual shortcodes used on the pages? This information will help us investigate further.

http://bsdsm.org.uk/upcoming-events/
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=bsdsm-upcoming-events]

http://bsdsm.org.uk/events-past/
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=bsdsm-upcoming-events]

Thanks !

Are you sure the second shortcode you listed is correct?

I checked the first URL and there are two events listed there, so that one isn’t blank.

For the second URL, you may need to include the show_expired parameter if they are past events. e.g.

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=bsdsm-past-events show_expired=true]

Yes this is very strange, it seems the up-coming events page seems to get the data from – I don’t know where?

It somehow pulls content in even when there is no short code on the page.

How can I private message you with log-ins so you can have a look?

Thanks !

You earlier wrote that the upcoming events page has this shortcode:

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=bsdsm-upcoming-events]

So now it doesn’t?

You can complete the form on this secure page to send log in information:

Thanks – that’s right – there is no content at all on the upcoming events page – so it’s pulling the events list in from somewhere.

I’ve updated the short code for past events as you sent – it’s working – now showing past events (expired) but it also showing the heading Upcoming events. I’ll send you my log-in so you can take a look. Very much appreciate your help !

by the way where do I upload my profile pic on this forum instead of an avatar?

Thanks – that’s right – there is no content at all on the upcoming events page – so it’s pulling the events list in from somewhere.

That’s not exactly the case, here’s a screenshot of your upcoming events page editor:

Re: the default title of “Upcoming Events”, you can change that, e.g.
title='Past Events'

The forums here (and lots of other sites) pull the profile pictures from gravatar.com. You can register there and upload profile pictures and they’ll automagically update here.
