Hello,

I’ve just tried to make test bookings on my site from my phone (Chrome, using Android 8.1.0)
Any event added to book, either clicking the basket or proceed to registration it shows as event basket empty???

Thanks
Declan

Hi Declan,

Are you sure this isn’t just happening on a specific event(s)?

I’ve just registered using Android 8.0.0 and didn’t run into any problems during the registration. I click to return to the cart and back to the rgistration form multiple times.

Hi Tony,

I tried it on the summer camps pages – https://www.adambrowntennisacademy.com/tennis-camps/

I’ve just tried on a lot of other events and getting the same thing.

Thanks
Declan

Are you logged in or out of the site on mobile?

Using wifi or mobile data?

Using the default browser?

I’ve just tested again using 2 other devices and emulating mobile mode in Chrome on PC and can’t reproduce. Without being able to see the problem and view the request I don’t know where the problem lies.

Usually, whenever you get a ‘nothing in your event queue’ error it’s due to caching, be it by a plugin or on the server itself, however, all of my requests are not being cached and work fine.

Hi, on mobile I was logged out. I was using wifi. The site has all caching switched off and there is no server caching.
Using PC it works fine, just on mobile.

Have you had reports of this from users or is it just on that device?

Do you get the same results using mobile data?

Have you tested another mobile device?

As mentioned I’ve tested 3 mobile devices (S8 on 8.0.0 (mobile and wifi), S6 Edge 7.0 (wifi), iPad 3rd gen (wifi) 10.3.3) and none of them had any problems. I’ll ask another member of the team to test when they get online (I’m first as I’m in the UK).

Also, try logging in on your mobile as admin, then retest, does it work then?

Hi Tony,
I’m testing from the UK to.
Users have reported similar issues in the past.
Logged in as admin and have the same issue.

Can you check your mobile device’s Chrome settings to see if Cookies are blocked for that site?

Hi Declan,

Can you try registering for an event on this demo site using your mobile device (Chrome, using Android 8.1.0)?

Hi Josh,

Have tried registering twice (using wifi, and then mobile network). Both times the event queue was empty.

Thanks
Declan

This isn’t really a fix, I loaded the desktop site on my mobile (using chrome settings) and it added to the basket ok. But thats not really a fix for the average user.
Thanks

Thanks for checking. Can you browse to https://supportdetails.com with your mobile device (Chrome, using Android 8.1.0) and send the report to support <at> eventespresso.com?

Hi Declan,

So without being able to reproduce this we cant really dig into it much, the device info you sent over shows the same version of Chrome I’m running.

As mentioned I don’t have 8.1.0 but I set up a virtual device in Android Studio and set that to use 8.1.0 – http://take.ms/t4Wi4

I didn’t have any problems testing a registration in that.

The steps I’m taking during registration is just hitting the Book now button on the home page, selecting tickets, submitting those and then on the modal selecting to either view the event cart.

If you add tickets to the cart from the tennis camp page, then refresh the page without going to the cart or registrations, do you see your tickets in the cart widget at the bottom of the page?

Hi Tony,

Steps I’ve just taken:
Gone onto summer camps page, added a ticket, refreshed the page, basket at the bottom was empty. When I added the ticket and the modal came up it added to the basket at the bottom of the page, but when going to the final basket it doesn’t show.

Although this was me testing, I think this is happening to some users as there are quite a few incomplete bookings in the system.

Thanks
Declan

Sounds like you are losing your session on every page load.

Add tickets, close the modal, add more tickets from another event, do they both show in the cart widget?

Refresh the whole page again, they are removed again, right?

When logging into the site as admin on that device, you stay logged in when browsing the site (or testing the above), correct?

Although this was me testing, I think this is happening to some users as there are quite a few incomplete bookings in the system.

Incomplete bookings don’t mean anything other than someone/something submitted tickets and didn’t proceed further, they do not indicate a problem on their own. Each time I, the support team or yourself test your session state we select tickets and go to the cart page, that will add more ‘incomplete’ registrations.

Also, another thought, on the device itself, do you have any security/cleaning/optimization apps running?

ANything that may prevent cookies from saving or clearing them?

MR DECLAN J MAIR

June 3, 2018 at 5:36 am

Hi Tony,

No security or optimisation apps installed. Nothing I see which blocks cookies.

If i log is as admin on device yes I stay logged in.

Yes, the modal pops up close it, tickets are in the basket, only when page refreshed or go to a new page is the basket cleared.

Thanks
Declan
