Hi! My January event created and WAS working just fine. When I went to make a February event the time/date of the event and ticket sales dates changes when I update the page. |
Hi there,
Do you have any plugins on the site that you didn’t when you created the event? In other words, what is different on the site between when it worked fine and now?
So if you switch back to the correct date/time and save, does it just go back to the wrong date/time? |

I did try out a membership plug in but removed it when it didn’t meet my needs. The biggest change is the EE update. What I will do is after Saturday’s event I’ll reload the EE program if that is recommended. Thanks π |

Oh and to answer the other question – everytime I updated the page, even to add or remove text it changed dates. Once it stopped the ticket sales and once it had the event as already past so I put ALL dates several days past the january 13th actual date. |

I am having a similar issue. I cannot edit event start dates or times, it looks like they have randomly changed and it won’t save any edits. The issue started with the update to 4.9.54 edited the starting date, saved and it reverts to the prior “unsaved” incorrect date closed out of EE, came back and the date is different again. |
Usually when this happens it is due to a plugin using I tested creating/updating events with 4.9.54 on a test site and didn’t run into any issues. Can you rule out a plugin conflict by following the steps posted here: |
|
|
No, deactivated ALL plugins but EE and went to change event date to Jan 13th at 9am and after saving it reads: 2018-01-11 03:00 am Theme is same one I’ve had since I started with EE. |
Hmm, ok. If the theme has had an update it could be theme, so if you can switch to a default and test it will also rule out a theme conflict. What timezone is set on the site? (Settings -> General -> Timezone) |

I have custom EE coding in my theme which is a child theme generatepress_child. If I switch can I switch back? (Took me forever to get the coding there) This is a pretty static website which we use mostly for registration for events. Time is UTC-6 as we are in Central Standard Time Zone. |
|
OK I switched themes and even installed a random one and still have dates of the event revert about 30+ hours earlier from what I type – Instead of Jan 13th 9am it shows as Jan 11th 9pm |
|
I fixed it on my site. It was related to the time setting in WP. It was set to UTC-4 and I changed it to select a nearby city and that fixed the problem. |
Ok, the problem is the UTC-6 timestamp. Did you not have a notice at the top of your EE pages – http://take.ms/erzxRc It links to this blog post: https://eventespresso.com/2017/08/important-upcoming-changes-dates-times/ |

Glsks thank you so much for sharing! I changed to Chicago and seems to work now π Tony, if there was a notice (and there probably was) it didn’t register. I’m not experienced with updates causing additional steps to have to make the update work π The beauty of wordpress is it’s (usually) low maintenance. I’ll pay attention to future updates. Thank you π |
It’s not all that often that you would need to make those types of changes and we don’t like having to but unfortunately sometimes we can’t prevent it. Anyway, I’m glad your back up and running π PLease do let us know if you run into any further problems. |
