Event admin page not loading after update

I just upgraded to the latest version 4.8.9-p of event espresso, but the main admin page wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_events is now showing a blank page in stead of the admin module.
I am running WordPress 4.3.1 NL and use the chrome browser on Mac OSX Yosemite

Hi there,

If you enable WP_DEBUG and view the page, is there an error message shown?
