Event Access table is not updating to show accurate Remaining/Total Spaces Left

Hello: I’m doing a Test Event as I’m new to EE4 and am setting up several workshops.

The Remaining and Total Spaces Left under the event Details then Access section do not update to match what is in the Registrations part of the event, nor any other place where I can view registrations.

My steps were:
1. Register for the Test Event using the Pending Payment option
2. This registration would not go through PayPal (“Sorry, we can’t complete your registration at this time”)
3. The registration DID populate in EE4
4. I cancelled the registration and sent notice (successful)
5. I deleted the payment transaction (successful)
6. I deleted the registration (successful)
7. Under the Event edit page I saw that the registration count was updated accurately (Limit is 6; I did one registration previously; The count SHOULD BE 1 registration with 5 remaining
8. The count under the Details section > Access section has not updated to the correct count. It is still showing 1 Sold (accurate); 4 Remaining (not accurate); 1 Total Sold (accurate); 4 Total Spaces Left (not accurate)

I’m very concerned that customers will see the wrong count and worse, look at a desired event date and see that no spaces are available when they actually are.

Please advise. I believe I have checked registrations everywhere in the event edit.

Hi Corey,

There can be a delay with getting those remaining and total spaces left figures updated, partly because there’s a ticket reservation system that will “hold” tickets after a registration has been started. If you go and do another registration and make a test payment for the ticket, do the figures get corrected?

Hey Josh: In short, yes, when I did another test payment the numbers did update accurately.

Wouldn’t it be a good fix to have the numbers update on the Event Details > Access view so customers have an accurate view and I don’t miss out on registrations? This would be for a full payment and registration deletion, as I did in registration pages for the test event. Seems the system should let go of its “hold” once full deletion is complete.

Hi Corey,

There is a mechanism in place to release tickets back into the inventory, but there’s an amount of time that’s allowed to pass first. This allows the the ticket buyer to pay for their tickets, and ultimately prevents overselling.
