Hi,

just going through all the email templates creating custom ones and I see that ‘admin’ emails can be sent to [ESPRESSO_ADMIN_EMAIL] – who will receive this email using this variable?

Also I presume that after creating custom email templates I can leave the default ones in place; no need to delete them?

Thanks!

Hi there,

[ESPRESSO_ADMIN_EMAIL] parses to the same value [CO_EMAIL] does.

They both use the email set within Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Organization -> Primary Contact Email.

That shortcode was included in core for backwards compatibility and is not used by default, I’d recommend using [CO_EMAIL] or [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL] over the ESPRESSO_ADMIN alternatives.

Yes that’s correct, you can leave the default templates as is.

However if you are creating custom templates you would need to select those custom templates on each event, if you want all of your events to use an edited template you an make your changes to the default templates and they will be used on all events by default.

Hi Tony,

ok thanks.

Ah… I’ve just created custom templates for all 14 emails… I didn’t know that I’d then have to edit all the events to use those custom templates! ๐Ÿ™

Is there a quick way to replace the defaults with the custom ones? I don’t really want to have to make all those changes (for each recipient, for each template) again!

Thanks

You can copy the customizations into each default template, then save.

ok Thanks.

Will default templates get over-ridden when EE is updated?

No, they are generated when you first activate EE and save to the database, after that they should keep all customizations unless you reset the template using the ‘Reset templates’ button within the editor.
