I just bought a support key and was trying to install the paid version and when I hit install, it gave me a blank page with “Server Hangup”

Free version (Decaf) worked fine.

Tried re-downloading the zip did not work. Uninstalled decaf and almost every other add in. Killed off the pages from decaf. Checked PHP version. Went into maintenance and killed off the install, tables, etc. completely and retried install and received the same error.

It sounds like running the Event Espresso 4 Caffeinated version is exceeding your shared hosting limits. You might be able to bump up the memory available to WP by following this guide:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

You can use an [FTP client][1] and [a text editor][2] to edit the site’s wp-config.php file. If that does not help, you should open a ticket with Bluehost as there might be an issue with your server configuration.

Josh, I installed the expresso requirments plug in and this is the PHP info
It passes and seems not even close to the limit. It seems to indicate that this was for an earlier version of WP and EE. Is that the case?

PHP

Your version5.6.27 PASS
PHP memory256M PASS
Max Upload Size64M PASS
Current PHP memory usage8.39 MB
PHP allowed to open files over url protocolYes
PHP equipped with GD image manipulation libraryYes

The requirements plugin doesn’t check for shared hosting limits, so you’ll really need to check with your host about that.

What should it be bumped up to? I did run the requirements “test actual memory” button and it reported in the last line You have successfully allocated 108.25MB of memory

Not sure if that means anything or not.

You’ll need to check with your host and they’ll be able to check the server logs to see what’s causing the server hangup error, then if there’s further action to be taken, they’ll know what to do.
