I just updated event espresso and now when someone tries to register, there is an error on the page that says: “An error occured. No Attendee was received.” and the template is all messed up.

This is horrible as I have a Groupon currently running!!

Help!

Hi Eamon,

Are there any templates from the previous version in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates? If so, these will need to be updated. Please see this post for more info:

Not sure what you mean by “updated”, also, I’m not sure how to identify templates from the previous version. But that directory /espresso/templates is EMPTY.

The discussion at the link you gave is equally vague. It says to check over pages to see if there is a negative impact. Check complete, negative impact detected. I’m seeing both visual problems and problems with the system saying that no attendee was received..

Can I roll back the update??? If so, how?

Umm… sorry, I’m not sure why that went 3 times like that… the server timed out when I hit submit so I think I clicked it a few times.

Hi Eamon,

I’m sorry for the trouble. If there are no template files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates, then old template files are not the issue.

There’s something else going on here and I’ll need to investigate this further to pinpoint the issue. Can you send FTP and WordPress admin credentials via our contact form? It may be that there are add-ons that need to be updated and I’ll have a better idea if I can log in and check things out.

If you can, please send WordPress admin level log in credentials and FTP credentials via the contact form on this page: https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form.

Hi Eamon,

It looks like the database did not get fully updated. So what I did was deactivate and reactivate Event Espresso and the confirm registration page is no longer displaying the error. Can please you test this out and confirm?

Yes, the system itself appears to be working properly now. However, the look and feel are significantly different. Before the update, the registration page and confirmation page were in the same style / format as my website as a whole. Is there some switch I need to toggle to get it back to looking like the rest of my site??

Thank you.

Hi Eamon,

You could try setting the Use themeroller Style sheets to No in Event Espresso>Template settings.
