I installed the WP User plugig and did a registration using invoice payment. Signed in as the user and went to the my events page. There was an icon of a shopping cart next to the event. I clicked on that and got an error that said

An error has occurred We’re sorry but there appears to be an error with the “reg_url_link or the transaction itself. Please refresh and try again or contact support”

Is this a bug?

Hi Shane,

When you selected Invoice, did you also click to Finalize the registration at the bottom of the page?

So to confirm the steps:

1. Select event tickets, click to register now.
2. Enter registration details and Process to payment options.
3. Select Invoice payment method and click ‘Finalize registration’
4. Log in using new details.
5. Click the cart link from my events.

The above works on my test sites so trying to narrow down any difference in steps.

Hi Tony,

Yes that was the steps I took. I will re enable the user plug in and try again to see if it was a fluke. I turned the plug in off because of other things, like not having a forgot password option on the pop up when they are forced to log in to register.

To explain the erorr a little more, this:

An error has occurred We’re sorry but there appears to be an error with the “reg_url_link or the transaction itself. Please refresh and try again or contact support”

Is shown when you have 2 conflicting sessions. For example if you as an Admin click to view a users payment options, or registration details (viewing on the front end not the admin), then close the browser and check another users details you’ll see the same happen.

Because on the first view you’ll open a session that is not closed, on the second link you’ll try to open another session, EE will see you already have one and compare the sessions. As they don’t match that error is thrown.

That is not something your visitors should encounter often, but as an admin its easier to do. If you clear the session by visiting the /registration-cancelled/ page then retry it should work.
