I am testing out a new barcode scanner. I have created a dummy event with a couple of tickets, one free and one to pay for, for an event due to take place today. I added a registrant for each ticket.
Scanning the free ticket worked fine, but scanning the pending payment ticket generated the following error:
Sorry, but while the ticket is for a valid registration, this registration does not have access to the given datetime.
EED_Barcode_Scanner – _validate_incoming_data
Is this what I should expect? I would have thought I would get a message stating that payment is pending.
Hi Nick, if the scanner is set to continuous mode, then you’ll see that.
It can also appear if the ticket does not have access to a certain datetime.
Lets say that an event that you are checking in for has multiple datetimes (e.g. datetime A, datetime B, datetime C) and the scanner is set to datetime B.
From here, you try to check-in using a ticket for datetime A, then it would not work as this ticket does not have access to datetime B.
Not in relation to this question Dean, but thanks. I am looking for the quickest way to scan people in at an event. It would seem that continuous scanning mode is the quickest as it involves the least user interaction. When using this mode though it would be nice to see the status of the payment if there is an issue – it’s fine to have the red cross, but would be better to have a “payment pending” or “incomplete payment” message, rather than an error message.
I hear you on that, I’ll add a feature request for this.
