Hi there, I am setting up EE for my client at bestteamsever.ca (screencaps of error messages can be seen here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6If9aoZAVDjYllNMzVTa2RlRlE)

I am receiving this message when I attempt to duplicate an event:
Sorry, you are not allowed to edit posts in this post type.

Also when setting up the API for maps, when I hit save for the new settings I received this message: 404 Page not found.

While both actions appear to have been taken/saved these error messages are problematic as they will cause mass confusion for the staff that will ultimately be inputting the events on an ongoing basis.

Can you please assist? I can provide login credentials if needed.

And last question – I see that with the license they have, there is not an option to show the information in a calendar style format but rather list only. That an extension is needed for that…however, documentation leads me to believe Calendar is only available for EE3 and not EE4. What is the solution to this?

Note: The WP installation and theme files are up to date.

PLEASE NOTE: Please also reply to my email address *redacted* if possible, as sending these replies to the address on file only will result in a delay for me in fixing this if I have to wait on the client to be available to forward them.

Hi Shayne,

We actually reply here in the forum topic, and email forwarding isn’t really a feature within the support forums.

The first thing to do to troubleshoot this is you go to Event Espresso > Maintenance > Reset, then click on the Reset Capabilities button. If that does not help, they you could try this troubleshooting guide:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/

documentation leads me to believe Calendar is only available for EE3 and not EE4. What is the solution to this?

May I ask which documentation were you viewing? That’s actually not correct. There is a calendar add-on available for Event Espresso 4:

Thank you for your reply! So I found the issue with duplicating events – I had a plugin that was adding a duplicate button for other purposes, so I was just using the wrong one. So now onto the 404 message when trying to save changes to Venue map API and such – I went through troubleshooting and disabled/enabled all plugins to no avail. Also went through all other steps in the troubleshooting list with no luck. Should I be submitting a support ticket at this point???

Re Calendar for EE4, I can’t find the documentation I read earlier now so I can’t point you in the right direction, but thank you very much for the clarification. Once the 404 issue is resolved I will go ahead and implement that. Don’t want to throw anything else into the mix until I have a fix for the current situation.

PS: can I update my original inquiry to remove my email address?

Hi there,

I removed your email address. RE the Venues > Google Maps page sending you to a 404 page. Can you check your server’s PHP logs for errors immediately after you hit save? You can also check the site’s .htaccess file to see if there’s anything added there by a security plugin.

If you don’t see any relevant errors in the log and the .htaccess file only has the standard WordPress permalink rewrite rules, you can check with your host to see if there’s a mod security rule being triggered. They should be able to adjust the rule set to allow you to save that settings page.
