The ‘are you sure you want to do this?’ error is normally from ‘nonce check’ failure or your site doesn’t have permissions to update plugins, I’m guessing the nonce check is the problem and will investigate this further.
However to get up and running you can install EE4 regular manually.
Then on you site de-activate and delete Event Espresso 4 decaf from the plugins menu (you will not lose event data when you do this)
Now install the EE4 regular plugin you just downloaded through Plugins -> Add new -> upload plugin.
Activate and run any migrations (if needed EE will be placed in maintenance mode and guide you through, be sure to follow all steps and create a database backup beforehand just to be safe).
Thanks for the quick reply! I had some further trouble when updating other plugins leading to the whole site breaking, so I hired a dev who fixed it in a flash and he somehow managed to upgrade the plugin while doing it. No wonder devs are called the wizards of the modern world.
Anyhow, thanks for the instructions. I’ll keep them in mind for other similar projects.
Happy new year in advance!
