I do have to process a refund of 1.40 $ for a client and when I applied the refund this error message say: The payment was processed successfully but the amount paid for the transaction was not updated.
So the transaction is marked as uncompleted.
How do I fix this ?

Is the total for the transaction before the refund $1.40 or more?
If the total is greater than all of the payments on the transaction it will show as incomplete, that includes if you have payments == total value and then refund an amount so the total paid is now less than the total amount due.
Yes the total amount of the transaction is 1.40 $. Her tickets was supposed to be free, but she didn’t select the good ticket, so the discount code didn’t work 100% for her. We fixed the problem with the promotion, but now I need to refund her the 1.40$ and when I do, it change the status of the transaction for uncompleted.
A refund is not suppose to change the total amount due ?
If I give a refund and after the system change the status for uncompleted, it make no sense for me. Can we fix that or is there a way not to change the status after a refund ?

No, and it’s not changing the total amount due, its used when calculating the total amount paid and if thats less than the total amount due the transaction status will be incomplete.

You can’t prevent the status from changing.
What you can do is rename a payment method that you don’t actually use (enabled it but only for admins) to ‘ADMIN DISCOUNT’ and apply a payment to the transaction, then select the payment method you altered above. The payment will then show up as ‘ADMIN DISCOUNT’ but because it’s a payment that matches the total amount due, the transaction will be complete.
Can I ask what having a transaction status of incomplete effects? If the registration is Approved the transaction status wont matter.
