Hi. Our customers are unable to register for our events because they get an “Error First Name Required” message (even though they have filled out that value). I am not a computer person and need extra simple help 🙂 Thanks!
Could you let us know who your hosting provider is? I want to rule out that this isn’t a caching issue. If you are not sure, then could you check with a colleague that helps with your WordPress site.
Does this issue continue when only Event Espresso is running and other plugins are temporarily deactivated through your WordPress Plugins screen.
On your contact form question — one isn’t needed to use Event Espresso. However, if you would like to add a contact form to your website for general inquiries, then you could use a plugin like Contact Form 7 or Ninja Forms or Gravity Forms.
Can you check with the developer of the website to see if they can update the active WordPress theme’s total-min.js file so that it’s compatible with the current version of jQuery? The reason I ask is because I checked the site and there is an error that’s potentially affecting the registration form.
You can let them know that this is the error that’s occurring on the website:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'msie' of undefined
