Hi,
Had a couple events come up for registration and as soon as it became available (estimating 200 to 300 people) sitting refreshing the screens. When they entered the qty of how many people they would like to register then clicking on the register button they just get a database connection error issue.
Had a few events that had have been running registrations for several weeks without any issue. Just this popular event.
how can we fix this?

Hi there,

What kind of hosting are you using?

From the above, it sounds intermittent rather than on every request which means your site is likely hitting a limit on your hosting package, most like max_connections.

I ran a test registration on one of your events (just selecting tickets) and it worked fine, but if multiple users do that at the same time and hit connection limit some will work and others will fail.

So I’d start by checking with your host to see if you’re hitting a limit, which limit that is and also see if they can increase the value set on it to allow more connections.
