Hello there, is there any update to the topic discussed below? We do not check our WP admin daily and recently the Events page became broken due to a pending update. Thank you!

Hi there,

We don’t currently have the auto-update feature within EE’s plugins, however, a pending update would not break the events page in itself.

Updating the plugin would cause it to flush your site’s rewrite rules which would fix what has likely happened for the events page to stop working, but the update itself shouldn’t be causing that to happen.

Generally, when the events page stops working it’s because another plugin as flush permalinks at an unexpected point in the request before EE has added its rewrite rules, the fix it to flush the permalinks by going to Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks (just opening the page should flush them but to be sure, make no changes and hit save).

Ok thank you for the clarification surrounding pending updates not being site-breaking, and for explaining how it could have appeared that the update fixed it when it fact it was the flushing of the site’s rewrite rules.

Was also thinking, we did recently move the page from Programs/Events to just Events. Maybe that messed up the permalinks and they were updated when we updated EE. Either way it’s working now and appreciate the support!
