Hi,
I just purchased to try it out. I’m using Event Calendar Pro + Event Tickets Plus and there are limitations and bugs I’m struggling with. I’ve also been using Eventbrite.

I’m confused by this one in your documentation:
Send out event registration confirmation emails
If you want to send each attendee an event registration confirmation email (instead of a printable ticket that can be scanned), then go to Event Espresso → Registrations. Click Screen Options in the top right of your screen and then adjust pagination to 50 and save changes.

Bulk select 50 attendees. Then click on the Bulk Actions dropdown menu and select Approve and Notify. Next click the Apply button and Event Espresso will send out email notifications to the 50 attendees.

Move to page 2 and repeat the steps above to bulk select 50 attendees and Approve and Notify. Continue moving through the pages one by one until you’ve sent out notifications for all attendees.

Do you really have to go 50 at a time to send out emails?

Hi there,

Yes, you need to batch trigger your emails and one of the reasons for this is to help prevent you from hitting any limits set on your host. Many (most) hosts have an email limit to help prevent spam and those limits are usually per minute, hour, day. If you could simple batch email say 1000 registrants in a single request you’ll very likely hit the limit, dropping all emails and you may not even know that happened.

You can increase the number of registration you can do to a higher number than 50 above but not the above and it also depends on your server as to how many registrations you can load in a single page within the request timing out.

As Event Espresso is a distributed plugin, hosted on your own server we have to account for multiple server setups, email configs and so on so the above is the safest set up we can use.
