I thought I submitted this ticket but can’t find it. My emails have been stuck in Queued for Generating for over a month! I saw in another post there was a setting to change to send immediately but I can’t find it.

Can you please help me figure this out!!

Hi there,

I thought I submitted this ticket but can’t find it.

I can’t find another thread for this on your account, do you have a rough idea of when you submitted this? I’d like to investigate what happened to the thread.

My emails have been stuck in Queued for Generating for over a month!

It could be that WP Cron has been disabled by your host, they usually setup an alternative system you can use when they do this (usually cron job on the server itself)

Which host are you using?

I saw in another post there was a setting to change to send immediately but I can’t find it.

That setting is within:

Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings -> ‘Generate and send all messages’

I would have opened the first ticket the same day I opened the google maps ticket.

I don’t have an option in Event Espresso –> Message –> Settings for ‘Generate and Send all Messages. In the ‘Queued for Generating’ tab, I can select up to 10 at a time and manually apply ‘Generate & Send’. But this is completely manual.

Message Settings Screen Shot

I am using WP Server. They can’t find anything on their side. They said the ee_message_cron was schedule.

I had updated my registration form about the same time this started happening. I added a radio button. I took that question off the registration form but the emails are still not going.

What version number of Event Espresso are you currently using?

You’ll find this within the plugins menu, search for Event Espresso and look for the version number.

It should also display at the bottom of the dashboard.

That version has the option included.

When viewing the message settings, go to the top of the page and look at the ‘Screen options’ section to make sure the ‘Global Message Settings’ checkbox is checked – http://take.ms/MxV4q

Weird, when I went back in to the screen, that global settings box was there. It is set to ‘On a Separate Request’. The other option is on the same request.

Okay, I have a multisite setup. On the main site, global settings box was there. It is set to ‘On a Separate Request’.

On the individual domain, there is no option for Global Settings in that screen options box.

I changed the setting on the main site to “on same request” and it appears to be working. Thanks!

You’re most welcome.

Thanks. WP Engine is asking if you have more details. They can’t find anything wrong on their side that would have caused it to stop working. Is there a way to figure out what caused the problem?

What impact to performance will the ‘work around’ cause?

What impact to performance will the ‘work around’ cause?

It’s not really a work around, its another option.

The reasons the ‘separate request’ option was added is if you have multiple/large group registrations EE needs to generate and send all of the emails for that group during the registration, which slows it down.

The other option allows a ‘message queue’ to be used, so the registration completes and the messages are added to the queue, they are generated and sent based on WP_Cron checks.

They can’t find anything wrong on their side that would have caused it to stop working. Is there a way to figure out what caused the problem?

Has WP_Cron been disabled on your site/server?
