Other than the Ticketing plugin being active, are there any other plugins that need to be active in order for a generic ticket to be emailed to a paying customer? I have been running test sales on an account an I am not receiving a ticket.
No other plugins should be needed, but you will need to either include a download tickets link in one of the message templates, or you activate the Ticket Notice message type. Here’s a link to the documentation wiki that explains more:
I got the ticket to work, but not happy with the formatting. This is what I have for my custom confirmation email: <p>Thank you for registering for the [event] on [start_date] at [start_time], [end_date], [end_time], [location]. Please download your receipt using the link: [ticket_link]</p>.
When I get the email, it looks like this:
Thank you for registering for the Eighth Annual Language Educators Workshop on September 17, 2016 at 9:00 AM, September 17, 2016, 3:00 PM, 280 Normal Street
East Stroudsburg, PA
18301. Please download your receipt using the link:

I’m sorry that you’re not happy with the formatting. What part of the formatting would you like to change?
A quick suggestion: You can add a closing p tag right after the end time (and remove the comma there).
Then you add a starting p tag right before the Location short code. It might also be best to wrap “Please download your receipt using the link: [ticket_link]” in its own paragraph too.
