I am currently experiencing a lot of event reschedules, due to weather. I have an email template set up to communicate the rescheduled dates to my customers who were effected.
I have been changing the date of the event to the NEW DATE, first. Then sending the email. The template should be pulling the NEW date. However, it is pulling the OLD date.
I would like to have a way to cc’ing myself on all emails sent out–or a way to send myself a draft to review before sending to my customers.
The template email is posted below for an event rescheduled from 2/21 to 3/7. Customers replied having received an emial with the [start date] shortcode returning the old date, not the new date. I knew this had happened once before, so I removed caching from my site and changed the date 12 hours before I sent the email, to ensure all servers were updated. The following template still returned an incorrect date:
[fname] [lname],
This winter has been quite an active one! The snow is beautiful, but I am excited it has given us a little reprieve! We were very sorry we had to reschedule the [event] pARTy due to weather and road conditions. We appreciate your patience while we took a few days to figure out a new date that works with [venue_title] and Fun Nite Art’s busy schedule.
We are happy to report, your pARTy has been rescheduled to [start_date], [start_time] at [venue_title], [venue_address].
Please confirm your ticket by REPLYING with your choice of one of these options within 24 hours of this email:
Yes, I will attend the new date
I can’t attend the new date. Please transfer my ticket to _____ event on ____ date. (check our current events online at http://www.FunNiteArt.com/tickets)
I can’t attend the new date. Please email me a reschedule code to use within the next 6 months.
I look forward to painting with you, real soon!
Hi, is this email template being used in the mass notification area that is available in the event editor?
If so, please manually enter the dates as the shortcodes are pulled from the event information which is stored in the database.
