Hello,

We used to send the emails to the parents and students. Parents were coded as primary registrant, and students were registrant. The short codes are changed recently, and non of the short-codes in the list sends the emails to the parents. The both [RECIPIENT_EMAIL], and [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL] short-codes are sending the emails to the students.

How can we fix this?

Thank you

Hi there,

Can you link me to the event so I can view the set up, please?

The Primary Registrant is (and always has been) considered a ‘Registrant’, but they are also the Primary Registrant. So if you were using the [RECIPIENT_EMAIL], and [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL] then when processing the primary registrant those would always have parsed to the same value. For additional registrants [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL] should parse to the primary registrant email and [RECIPIENT_EMAIL] parse to the current registrants email address.

For parent and child setup’s we would usually have recommend using a custom question group to collect the parents details and then use the answers to those custom questions in the message templates to send the emails to parents. I’m not sure how [RECIPIENT_EMAIL], and [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL] could have been used in that context.

Hello Tony,

Thank you for the response. We were using another short code [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Parent’s Email Address] which suddenly became unavailable, and we used the available ones, but they did not work.

If you still need I can link yo to the event.

Thank you,

Tony

Oh, ok, so now it makes sense (in terms of shortcodes).

However, we haven’t changed the shortcodes in the messaging system, so to confirm you’re saying that [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Parent’s Email Address] is parsing to the email address of the registrant?

If you can link me to the event I’ll match the setup on a test site and troubleshoot this further.
