Hi EE4 Support, For some reason, the emails is broken when recipient email is outlook. https://cln.sh/JnAWWB The background will turn to yellow. all the hyperlinks’ http part has character ‘h’ removed and at the end, seems like [“] is decoded to %22 when is test email is sent to gmail, the rendering is perfectly fine though. Also I noticed that when I save the message template, the content will indent the first line. Wondering if it’s the editor doing something in the background could cause this issue. Please advise! Thanks! Alex |
Hi Alex, When testing Outlook do you mean the output client or site? The outlook client doesn’t render HTML emails correctly and apparently has issues when outputting the email templates we use. Does it show correctly for you on Outlook.com? |

Hmmm, ok, so I’m getting broken content in both. Outlook does as mentioned, sets the background to yellow and removes the hyperlinks. Gmail does something similar in that the hyperlinks are all broken. How is your site set up to send the emails? |

Yes, you can, I see MailChimp has now basically renamed Mandril to MailChimp Transactional and I’m not sure if it would be wise to continue to use the Mandrill plugins but you can apparently set it up via SMTP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jv2x6Z2yPvk Note that this isn’t EE email specific, its all of the emails from your site. You can’t specifically target just EE emails to send via MailChimp as they just us |

Hi Tony, We were able to fix this problem by switching the email provider from smtp to Outlook365. Alex |
Hi Alex, Thanks for the update and I’m glad you got it working. It sounds like either an encoding issue or the emails are being flagged as suspect and parsed accordingly (although I didn’t notice anything in the headers to say back this up). Odd issue for sure. |
