When I register for an event, but I have not paid yet or click a payment option, it is not entirely clear if I have registered or not or that technically you should choose a payment option. However if I look on the registrations page it says that I registered. Can you send an email once the registration hits the payments page, so that the customer doesn’t get confused as to what do to next. It seems like the customer is already in the system, so it should say something like you are registered, but still pending payment. Is there are way to do this? Also, I think there is a bug on the registration page which I click on the page it shows only the name of the last registration for all the names even though they are all supposed to be different see here for image (miyceramics.com\images\Name_duplicate.png. |
Hi Denise, The emails are triggered once you reach the thank you page, there is currently no option to send emails from the select a payment page. There is a couple of reasons for this but one of them is to reduce duplicate emails. You reach the thank you page when you have selected a ticket (or multiple tickets), input your registration details, selected a payment method and clicked to Finalize the Registration. Depending on the gateways in use depends on how many different scenarios there are here. Offline gateways such as Invoice, will direct you straight to the Thank you page and send out the relevant registration message (usually Registration Pending Payment) Online payment gateways will request payment before you reach the thank-you page and send out the relevant message once a payment has been accepted/declined. You also have offsite gateways such as PayPal Standard and OnSite gateways such as PayPal Pro. All of these behave differently and so the message triggers must take all of these into account.
I checked this on one of my test sites and it correctly showed the registrations for me – http://take.ms/RRlHC How are you getting to the registrations list you pictured above? |

In order to reproduce the registration issue: 1. I am logged in to my dashboard I am wondering now, if this is because I used the same email address but different names? I see that your registration from earlier did not change. Sometimes customers call in and I register them for a class, but I don’t get their email address, so I use mine, just so that I have them listed for the class. I would like to have the unique names even though the email address is the same…. |
Hi Denise, would you happen to be using the WP user integration? If so, that will perform a sync to update the registrants name. Note that an email is the authoritative value for an attendee/registrant. — |

Yes I have EE WP user integration plugin activated. This is definitely not related to the same email address. I used a totally different email address and then when I viewed the registrations page after signing up for an event, everything shows up as the new name. See image below. http://miyceramics.com/images/same_name4.png Are you saying this is because I am logged in, even through I am imputing a unrelated name an email address to my WP login? Thanks |
Hi Denise, here is an example. Lets say you have this information from an earlier registration and the WP User Integration plugin is activated: First name: Test email: test@example.com Then you complete a registration like this: First name: NewTEST email: test@example.com Your account information would actually be updated to NewTest NewUser because it performs a sync of the personal question group after the registration. — |

What about if the email is different between your two examples? |
The difference in emails doens’t matter in this instance. Are you logged in for all these registrations? Reason I ask is your registrations are linked to your contact. With the EE4 User integration add-on when you register onto an event, it automatically updates your ‘contact’, (your ‘User’ account) with the information you use. So because you are logged in when you register onto all of those events, they are all using your contact. Notice how MY registration doesn’t change? That’s because I’m a completely separate contact to you. Try registering onto the event whilst logged out, use completel new data in the fields. Then check the registrations, you’ll find a new registration and all of your other will remain as they are right now. |

Great that is the answer I was looking for 🙂 I just wanted to make sure I understood! |
