Email Message Not Sending

I have noticed over the last week or so my email messages for registrations etc are not automatically sending like they were previously. I have had to manually force the system to generate and send the notices after they sat in the que for nearly 24 hours.

I just applied a payment to a transaction and it took it quite awhile for it to process/apply. Once it did I had the following error message at the top of my dashboard screen: The following errors have occurred:
The email did not send successfully.
The WordPress wp_mail function is used for sending mails but does not give any useful information when an email fails to send.
It is possible the “to” address (rvirden@targetingexcellence.org) or “from” address (info@targetingexcellence.org) is invalid.

The payment notification generation failed.

However, I did receive the admin email notification for this payment.

I also have an ongoing issue with the system telling me my support license key is invalid even though it is not (there is a separate support ticket currently open for it). Could these email issues be linked to the support licence issues?

We are using SparkPost to manage the email sending and that has been in place for approximately 6months with no change to the settings.

Support license issues have no affect on whether an email sends or doesn’t send.

It sounds like the error message you saw about the possibility of an invalid email addresss originated from SparkPost, so you might check with them. There’s a possibility that the mail headers aren’t in the right format, and you could try switching the shortcodes for To: and From: to use the unformatted versions. e.g. if you have [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL] in the From: field you could change it to be [CO_EMAIL].

Another thing that may help is you can go to the Messages > Settings tab and change it to send emails on the same request.
