When an event does NOT require Pre-Approval, ours emails work as expected. When an event requires Pre-Approval, the emails don’t work properly. The Registrant info that gets sent to admin is incomplete and the entire email looks like this: Event title: The Daytime Workout The Registration Confirmation email we drafted does not get sent, but rather this one does: Event title: The Daytime Workout Thank You. |
Hello, The title of your support post varies from what you have described so I may not be understanding your issue clearly. The registration confirmation email is sent out when the registration has been confirmed/approved. If you are using the pre-approval option, then these registrations have not been approved and your custom emails won’t be used. When you edit the attendee record to approve the registration, then you can select the custom email template or type out a new message. — |

Okay but is there somewhere we can change the text of this email? This is the email that gets sent out when the person tries to apply for a Pre-Approval event: Can we create a custom email for this? Or is this is something we would need to hire a developer for? The title of this post is not accurate because I ran out of space 🙁 |

Hi, In EE3, some of the emails are not editable (admin emails, pre approval emails). This has been rectified in EE4 where emails (messages) are much more flexible and they are all editable. In EE3, you can still modify that email, but you will need to copy a function to either a custom functions plugin or a custom_functions.php file (this goes in wp-content/uploads/espresso/). If you are not comfortable with PHP then yes you will need a developer to edit it. The function in question is event_espresso_send_attendee_registration_approval_pending and this is in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso_31365/includes/functions/email.php The function is a pluggable function so when copying it, the surrounding IF statement is not needed. |

I uploaded the EE4 plugin, backed up my data and tried to migrate the data from EE3 to EE4. It worked partially, but now my entire site has crashed. I can’t access the wordpress backend to login. What is the problem? I have a backup of my data, but my data file is so big I can’t restore it through my hosting cpanel, I have to wait up to 48 hours for them to restore it. |

Update, I was able to recover my website by deleting the EE plugin. I’m not sure why it disabled my whole site and whole to prevent this from happening again. |
Hi Steve, Did you have both EE3 and EE4 active at the same time? Was there any error message shown? |
