Hi,

I have searched absolutely everywhere and I simply cannot figure out what triggers a pending payment email to be sent.

Can someone please help me understand how I can trigger this email and if there are any prerequisuites (e.g. does it get sent only when abandonning the purchase inside paypal or is it triggered as soon as I complete the first step of the registration process and then have the payment screen choices?)

Also – is there a delay that can be configured? for example, can I determine that the email should be sent 1hr from person having completed registration or should it be 12hrs?

I can’t seem to find any information on this and would be most grateful if someone could help me understand this.

Thanks

K

Hi there,

Registration messages are triggered once a registration has been finalized and the user reaches the thank you page. This would be after entering registration information, selecting a payment method and clicking to Finalize the registration.

Which message is triggered depends on the Registration status, the registration status depends (in a nut shell) the payment status. If a user has not paid EE will not automatically Approve the registration. (Although you can manually approve them)

No emails are sent when you enter your registration information, this is to reduce the amount of redundant emails.

For example if I come to your site with the intention of paying in full, I register, fill in my details (lets say we DID now send a pending payment email to the registrant) the user clicks through to a payment gateway, lets say Stripe and make a full payment.

This loads the thank-you page, the Approved email will be sent (because the payment approves the registrations) and the payment received email. There was basically no need for the Pending Payment email.

Basically the user needs to provide the registration information, select a payment method (online or offline) and finalize the registration. If they have paid in full during that process, they will be approved and the Approved emails sent, if not the status will be Pending Payment and the Pending Payment emails sent.

Does that help?

Also – is there a delay that can be configured? for example, can I determine that the email should be sent 1hr from person having completed registration or should it be 12hrs?

This is not something we have setup within Event Espresso.
