Hi, I just purchased the wp-members intergration addon, and it doesn’t seem to auto-fill the logged in user’s username on the registration form. |

Hi there, Is the username field a custom question you have created? Currently the EE4 Users add-on auto-fills the First Name, Last Name and Email address from within the ‘Personal Information’ question group and syncs changes made to your EE contact with your WP User Account, it does not auto-fill custom questions created by the user. Can you link em to one of your events so I can view this please? |

thanks for the quick reply Tony. i can’t link you, sorry, it’s a members only website. the username field is a custom question, but only because i can’t figure out how to make the system-related usrname field show up on the reg form. any ideas? i’m a bit disappointed, i thought this would be the bare minimum functionality for such a paid plugin. |

We don’t include a username field as a question as you shouldn’t be able to alter your username through the registration form and the registration will be assigned to the currently logged in users account. So it would basically be a place holder for your username that would be repeated in the admin bar (depending on settings) To pull in the username for a custom question would require some custom development with the users add-on, I’ll check in the developers and see if they can provide any feedback. |

That’s great, thank you very much. I don’t want anyone to be able to alter their details, i’m not sure why anyone would want that if they purchase this addon. I was hoping that the reg form would be filled out with all relevant details already embedded in the user’s profile, with shortcodes to call custom data. |

There seems to be some confusion over what the EE4 Uers Add-on is used for. The add-on syncs up your EE4 Contact details with your WP User details, it does not provide shortcodes to output any data from your user account or your contact. Registrations made whilst logged into your user account with that add-on will be linked o your user account, there can view within your Profile page, or using a page with the [ESPRESSO_MY_EVENTS] shortcode. The First Name, Last name and email address of the user account will be auto-filled into the registration form but not custom questions. If the user alters the details within the registration form then it will sync those details with the logged in users EE Contanct and therefor the WP User account. Can I ask what your are trying to achieve? There may be another way to get what your need. |

Username is not a custom question though, it should be as easily retrieved as names and email info. I would like members to be be able to apply for a ticket for an event, and have the registration form automatically filled out with their full name, email address and username, so as to reduce risk of error and speed up the application process. |

It is in terms of the registration form, we don’t require the Username to be entered into the registration form by default, so you’ve created a custom question to include it, as it’s a custom question it isn’t auto-filled. But yes pulling in the username for the currently logged in user is simple enough, assigning it to the correct custom question, not so much. I’ll let you know what feedback we get from the developers shortly 🙂 |
