We’re running WPMU 4.2.2 with EE 4.7.4.p activated on two sites. One is http://www.esiroundtable.org and the other is ca-ny.esiroundtable.org.
After a bad experience with GoDaddy, we recently switched to Cloudways using a Digital Ocean server. Everything seemed to be working well through testing, but after the first round of new events went live today we ran into two issues:
On the primary site (www) users often get the error “You need to select a ticket quantity before you can proceed”. We got this error in the past and resolved it by disabling the Canadian provinces. Those are still disabled, some registrations are getting the error nonetheless.
On the second site (ca-ny), users are getting “Nothing in your event queue”. My research in the forums pointed me in the direction of caching (Cloudways uses Nginx, Varnish and Memcached by default), but reference to EE4 seem to indicate that this shouldn’t be an issue any longer. Regardless, disabling the caching services seems to have worked as a temporary band-aid. We cannot modify the configuration of the server based services, but would W3 Total Cache help in this case or is a different issue altogether causing the error?
I’m happy with the services EE provides, but I do need these issues resolved in order to use it functionally.
Disabling the cache for either site, isn’t needed but EE DOES need to be whitelisted, our pages will not function when cached as they are dynamic in nature.
I would speak to your host, hosts are generally happy to add urls to white list.
