I just migrate to EE4 and now in my admin panel I don’t have the “Preview” button as well as the EE3 is still activated in plugins and when I try to deactivate EE3 or EE4 a page comes up and asks me “Are sure you want to do this” and when I click on it it goes back to the same setting. Please help as the site is life and tickets are selling now.

Hi Ted,

Only one version of Event Espresso should be running at one time.

Please try deactivating all Event Espresso software including any addons for version 3. If you are having trouble with deactivation, try deactivating an addons first and then deactivate the core software.

Then reactivate the version that you want to use.

Note: EE3 addons cannot be used with Event Espresso 4.

Also, events in Event Espresso 4 can be set to draft. This will allow you to preview these events on the front end but they will not appear to website visitors.

It does not allow me to deactivate anything I can not even create a post or a page. The whole site is not functioning. Whatever I do it comes up with a blank page and the question “Are you sure you want to do this?”

Hi Ted,

Try renaming the WordPress plugins folder:

wp-content/plugins

Then change plugins to plugins1

This will deactivate everything and you can restore the name to plugins.

https://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F

Then only reactivate the plugins that you need.

I don’t have enough knowledge to do this. Is there anyway to delete EE4?

Hello, I can try from my end to remove it.

Could you please create a temporary WordPress admin login so I can take a closer look at this issue?

Please share that temporary login through the secure link below:

Hi Lorenzo,
I restored my site back to EE3 as at this point I can not risk any down time. Thank you so much for your quick respond. I may give it another try later next week.

Cheers,
