Using EE4 (just purchased) the registration form does not work. I’m getting a message that says: x The event page can be found here – Also all of the EE4 pages show 3 “x” at the top of the page (no problems with any other pages on the site. Not sure if it is related or if I have to create another question for it. |
Hi Jorge, Can you try this while having a different WordPress theme active? You can test out a different WP theme without changing the site by using the theme test drive plugin. |

Hello Josh, Thank you for the quick reply. I just installed the “Theme Test Drive” plugin, and will be testing EE4 with a different theme (decided to uninstall EE4 and EE3 first to be sure I start from scratch). Will keep you posted. Jorge |

Hello Josh, I just tried a clean installation of EE4 and used Theme Test Drive to see if changing the theme will do anything. The short answer, nothing, no difference in the way EE4 worked. I actually found a new issue, if I create an event or a venue, and save it as a draft, I cannot go back later and Publish it (the button is there but it does nothing). Here is my basic system info (everything else works fine) I look forward to hear from your team if there are any recommendations on what can I do, or what can you do to make it work. Thank you Jorge |

Hello Team, Any ideas on what may be causing EE4 not to work with my site? I had to disable it since it was not working. If there are no other suggestions then I will need to look for an alternative. Thank you Jorge |
HI Jorge, Can you try testing with the 2014 default WordPress theme? We might be able to do some more debugging if you can email us your theme file. https://eventespresso.com/contact/ |

Hello Garth, I just send you an update via the recommended link (contact). I went to plain vanilla (2013) and still have the same problem. I checked my plugins for known issues, and so far I don’t have any that I can identify. Looking forward to hear from you guys. I will need to keep the plugin disabled since otherwise it does not allows me to register. Looking forward to hear from your team about a solution. I like the plugin and some of the options (as soon as they are ported, but need it to actually work). Thank you Jorge |

BTW, as a general update. I uninstalled EE4, and installed back EE3 (the free one) and that one works fine with my regular theme (confirmation and everything). Got one test user registered, confirmation done, and email received. Regards, Jorge |

Hi Josh, I just installed EE4 again and disabled “All-in-One Events Calendar” as suggested in your email (also disabled EE3). Same problem as indicated before (can’t “Publish” venues after draft saved). Didn’t even try to see if the rest worked (since that’s already not working). |
Hi Jorge, Can you first make sure your WordPress installation is up to date? Event Espresso 4 depends on version WordPress 3.8.1. WordPress 3.7.1 will not work. Then after that, can you try temporarily deactivating all other plugins that are installed? This will help narrow down what’s causing the issue. |

I’ve got the same problem. Error message: Your form data could not be applied to any valid registrations. I’ve followed your advice above and nowt! Please help! |
@ BurntCorkMedia, I tried registering for one of your events and the registration went through as expected. Can you try testing a registration in another browser or while logged out of the site? |
|
|
Yeah, I’ve already done that. It’s a regular guest who’s now tried three times- same message everytime . I tested before I came to you. I have no idea how she is getting that error. 🙁 |
It would be best if we can follow up in another thread because this is a different issue. In this case, the registration isn’t working some of the time and the cause and solution may be different for this site than the other sites mentioned in this thread. Can you start a new thread and let us know if [https_enabled] => 1 in the Event Espresso – Maintenance – System Information box? The other thing that you can try is set the wp super cache plugin to not cache URLs with /events or /registration-checkout in them. You’ll find the do not cache page list in the WP super cache advanced settings. |

Some good news here. Following the instructions to use WP 3.8.1 I just installed EE4 on my test site and everything works great (with the same main plugins that I’m using in my primary site). I’m able to create and edit pages and venues, register clients etc. Now the scary part (upgrading my true site to 3.8.1). Let me do a full backup and start the party. Will keep you posted after I complete the upgrade and re-installation of EE4 on the main site. My thanks to the EE team for their quick responses and support. Jorge |
Hi Jorge, Some of the tips here may help with that update: |

Hi all. I had the same issue. I deactivated Object Cache in W3 Total Cache and it’s working ok now. Reza |
You may be able to use the object cache on other pages of the website if you set the W3 Total cache plugin to not cache the /events/, registration-checkout, and thank you pages. Basically any of the pages listed in Event Espresso’s critical pages tab should be set to not be cached. |
