Hello, I recently noticed that EE4 Promotions Add-On is causing header errors on my site. Although I suspect something else is causing the error, I have had to disable this Add-On to remove the error message.

The error was first indicating that the plugin Avantlink-WP was causing the error and having a conflict with EE Core of some kind. I disabled Avantlink WP through FTP (because the error was so serious I couldn’t get to my admin panel), and the admin then loaded ok, but I still had error messages. This time, the message indicated EE Promotions was the culprit. “Cannot modify header” and “Cannot send cache limiter” – both with “Headers already sent”.

When I disabled EE Promotions, the error went away and the site appears to be functioning as normal.

This is a bit of a problem however as we use the promotions quite frequently and every event has global codes available.

Hi there,

The error was first indicating that the plugin Avantlink-WP was causing the error and having a conflict with EE Core of some kind. I disabled Avantlink WP through FTP (because the error was so serious I couldn’t get to my admin panel), and the admin then loaded ok, but I still had error messages.

Do you have access to the server error logs? If you had to de-activate the plugin using FTP then it is likely it was throwing a fatal error, which should be available within the logs.

This time, the message indicated EE Promotions was the culprit. “Cannot modify header” and “Cannot send cache limiter” – both with “Headers already sent”.

Basically means that something has already sent details to the page (usually when is should not have) then EE4 Promotions tries to send something and it throws that warning. EE4 promotions showing the error is likely to be a symptom of the problem rather than the cause.

Can you post up the full error so we can investigate please?
