Hi,

I used EE a few years ago and have a client that needs an event registration on their website. I added the free EE3 version – but it looks like it is lacking a few things I need.

You can see what I did here: http://gtownwomensbiblestudy.com/event-registration/?ee=1

Here are my questions – regarding purchasing a commercial license.
1. I need the ability to have the ticket have 2 add-on options to the same ticket. It is $35 for the ticket, then the ability to checkbox and add either an additional $5 or $10 donation – which would increase the total. I could only see having to create 2 more tickets with a ticket title of “Registration + $5 donation” – didn’t want to have 3 tickets, just one with add-ons? Can I do that with EE4?

2. It looks like the free EE3 behaves weird in the admin with the popup windows – like it is a conflict with jquery or something? it will not close out popup windows (like the ? help windows). Any ideas?

3. I would like to have 2 payment methods. 1. via Paypal (which I already have working) and 2. They can select “Pay by Check at Event” – where they can register and agree to pay by Check at the Event.

4. I was thinking of getting EE4 for $49, instead of EE3. Any recommendation, based on my question below on which would be better? If I do that – will I have to re-install what I currently have on the website – and manually re-add anybody that might have already registered? Here is what I have live now – http://gtownwomensbiblestudy.com/event-registration/?ee=1

THanks,
Sway

In Event Espresso 4, you would need to create additional tickets and those would appear as options for attendees/registrants to choose from:

2. It looks like the free EE3 behaves weird in the admin with the popup windows – like it is a conflict with jquery or something? it will not close out popup windows (like the ? help windows). Any ideas?

This could be caused by another plugin. Do you see the same issue when only Event Espresso is running?

3. I would like to have 2 payment methods. 1. via Paypal (which I already have working) and 2. They can select “Pay by Check at Event” – where they can register and agree to pay by Check at the Event.

Yes, you can setup multiple payment methods with Event Espresso 4. The following payment options are currently supported:

4. I was thinking of getting EE4 for $49, instead of EE3. Any recommendation, based on my question below on which would be better? If I do that – will I have to re-install what I currently have on the website – and manually re-add anybody that might have already registered? Both versions currently meet your needs so I would go with Event Espresso 4. If you do decide to go with version 3, then you can update to version 4 at a later date and your information will be migrated. This means that you will not have to add existing attendees/registrants.

Thanks Lorenzo,

I will look into purchasing EE4 next weekend – when I have time to revisit and upgrade the current site.

So – people are already registering usiyng the EE3 lite – when I purchase EE4 – how do I upgrade to keep the current purchased tickets information?

Thanks,
Sway

Hi Sway,

Event Espresso 4 will prompt you to migrate your existing information or start new when you activate it.

Be sure to select the option to migrate your data.
