EE4 Pending Payment Email Not Being Sent

Hello,

I have completed several tests for paid events using EE4 where I haven’t completed payment. However, the Registration Pending Payment email isn’t being sent out once I register without paying. How do I get it to fire off these emails when a user doesn’t complete payment?

Hi,

To clarify: did you complete the registration without finalizing (selecting a gateway and pressing the finalize button) or did you complete the registration by selecting an Offline gateway (invoice, cheque, etc) and completing finalize?

If you fail to select a gateway and click finalize, no email will go out as it is an abandoned checkout.

If you did select a gateway and finalize then the Registration Pending email should go out.

Can you check that other emails are processing correctly? You can use the Check Email plugin to help with that: https://wordpress.org/plugins/check-email/

Hello Dean,

Yes. I have the registration page auto-selecting PayPal as the payment gateway since it’s the only one (via jQuery). I completed the registration process and clicked “Finalize Registration.” I’m still not receiving the Registration Pending Payment email. I get directed to PayPal but nothing comes through in my email.

I tried the plugin you mentioned and it’s able to send email without issue. Can you complete a test registration to see what might be the issue?

Hi, the pending payment email is currently only sent when an attendee reaches the thank you page using an offline payment method.

If you perform a registration checkout using PayPal, then an email is not sent since its expected that the attendee/registrant will pay for their registration on PayPal.com
