I have PayPal Pro setup with the API information required, but when we submit payments through the system using credit cards, we get an error message stating that the payment cannot be processed due to card type not being setup (or something). But, after about 1 1/5 to 2 hours, the payments are processed through PayPal. How can I determine where the problem arises? PayPal states it is not them so I am left with either this system or my host. I am looking at the host logs but nothing is showing up yet. What can I do? My users are attempting multiple times and I am afraid that their payments will process multiple times. This is getting to be a real big problem. |

Hi there, Is this happening for a specific card type? Or more to the point, is this happening only with AMEX cards?
How are you tracking this? Is it because you receive and email from Event Espresso stating the registration is approved or are you receiving an email from PayPal to say the payment has been processed at that time? If you look within the transaction for one of the registrations this happened to, do you see payments in the transaction, like this – http://take.ms/J9jbI If so what does it show for the gateway response for the payments? |

Actually it was happening with all cards using the Paypal Pro plugin. Also, as an update, some but not all transactions were processed all the way (just a few). I am tracking using both EE4 and also PayPal (DateTime elements on each). I am thinking it is an issue with my host (iPage is not a very robust web hosting solution). PayPal standard IS working, but that may be because EE4 ports to that site to complete the transaction. PayPal Pro must use the Web API and probably my host has issues completing these transactions. Unfortunately, they will NEVER admit it is their problem and I get this back and forth and the issues never really get resolved. I will try to get a couple screen caps to show what is going on. R |

Moving to a better host may help. Have you checked the logs in Event Espresso > Payment Methods > Logs to see if there are delays between the log entries for the PayPal Pro transactions there? |

I the log, here is an extract of the message. It clearly states invalid configuration, but we validated all the settings and setup. I have NO clue what the issue might be. I would suggest, that when the settings are updated, that EE4 perform a test to verify the settings with PayPal somehow: TIMESTAMP 2016-02-06T18:35:38Z |

If it were possible, it would. Here’s the information from PayPal that has more details on the 10548 error and what to do to fix: https://www.paypal-knowledge.com/infocenter/index?page=content&id=FAQ1147&actp=LIST |

OK, thanks. I will take this up with the PayPal people and also my host. R |

Hello, I took a look at the error message documentation and there may be a setup issue on your PayPal account. To double-check, could you confirm that you have a live PayPal Pro account? This is different than a regular account on PayPal.com as there is a monthly fee. If you do have an account for PayPal Pro and it is a newer account (e.g. recently opened), then double-check that you have signed the billing agreement for American Express. I believe that is a separate addition to the PayPal Pro account. — |
