Hi, I have a situation where a customer purchased a ticket via Paypal. I received a Paypal notification of payment received but the Transaction report shows the transaction failed. What is the cause and how can it be resolved? Does a customer receive the Event Transaction Report (i.e., Launch Invoice/Order Confirmation)? If not, how do I send a Transaction/Order confirmation to the customer? Thank you. |
Hello, If PayPal is slow to process the IPN, then you may see an incomplete payment on the thank you page. We are working on a solution to account for these unexpected delays. With that mentioned, the transactions page within the WordPress admin should have a successful payment recorded. If it doesn’t, then there could be an issue with your settings. I would first check the Critical pages for Event Espresso. They need the correct shortcodes and they should all be published: WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Critical Pages. Next, be sure that your IPN is setup correctly in your PayPal account: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-set-up-paypal-ipn/#paypal — |

I will check it out. I did not get answer on my second question. Thanks |
Hi, This depends on your default registration settings for events & the messengers that are enabled: http://cl.ly/image/2H1w3K1a0z2U Typically a registration approved message will be sent along with a payment confirmation message. — |

My question is how does a customer get this |
|
Hi, The registrant will be emailed by default. The messages can be edited via the Messages menu. |
I am having the same issue with PayPal Pro, but it occurs randomly and seems to happen more frequently when payments are made using Visa cards. In most cases the user retries their payment using a different method, which causes a duplicate payment which I then have to refund through PayPal. I have been forced to deactivate PayPal Pro until this issue has been resolved. I have followed all of the steps on the ‘How To Set Up PayPal IPN’ article without any luck. The message ‘No IPN (or incomplete IPN) received’ is displayed when I visit the /transactions/ page, and I am using the simple transaction page template. Please help! |

Hi Ccarnell, Hope this help, N |
Hi N.F., thanks for sharing that its working for you! @ Ccarnell, the transactions page will show that message if you browse directly to it. It actually operates in the background so your registrants/attendees will not browse to that page. Instead they should arrive at the Event Espresso thank you page after paying through PayPal Standard. This is usually: example.com/thank-you/ In addition to running through these steps: …please also ensure that you do not have multiple versions of the shortcodes for the Critical Pages. This is something that I recently noticed so I thought I would share. — |
