I manage the site Studenterkirurgi.dk, where we sell tickets to our own courses for medical students.
Some of these courses are very popular and become sold-out in 2 mins or less, which is nice. But the very popular ones also overbooks. So EE4 sells 13 tickets instead of 12, which is pretty annoying.
We use the default registration status “approved”.
And the latest version of EE4.
How to fix the overbooking?
Kind regards
Anders
I can advise using a different default registration status. The Pending Payment default registration status will prevent non-paid registrations from permanently securing a spot. This way they’ll have up to 60 minutes to pay and if they don’t pay, the spot will open for someone else.
The pending payment function is good at that, but this is not a problem. The problem is EE4 overbooking. So we used Approved because we wanted to secure the spots ASAP, so there would be no overbooking 😀
So how do i fix that EE4, sells 13 tickets when only 12 i available?
If you’re not going to use the Pending Payment Default registration status then I suppose you can set the registration limit to 11 to avoid overselling when there’s a race condition where two people end up getting the last available ticket.
