I have copied over the EE4 folder to my plug-in folder, but when I log into my website, I cannot see the unactivated plug-in. I followed your directions. I have downloaded the folder upon purchase and copied this folder into my plug-in folder. What am I doing wrong? I initially tried to upload via zip file, but it was too big. I am still having trouble trying to increase max file size. So I went the FTP route. Jay |
Hello, Your webhost can raise the upload restriction for you. Here are the steps to manually install EE4: Download a fresh copy of Event Espresso 4 from your account. Then unzip the folder to a location on your computer such as the downloads folder or your desktop. The name of the folder will be event-espresso-core-reg. Next, login to your WordPress root with an SFTP or FTP client. FileZilla and Cyberduck are free options. Then browse to the WordPress plugins folder: wp-content/plugins Then upload the event-espresso-core-reg folder to the plugins folder above. You should overwrite any existing folder and be sure there are no errors after the upload. Then you can return to your WordPress admin and activate Event Espresso. — |

I did this several times… all the files match as well when I view on the server folder. But I also noticed that the server folder does not contain all the prior plug-ins I loaded, even thought all the plug-ins work. Any ideas why? |
The contents of the WordPress plugins folder does not match what is shown in your WordPress admin? Are you logged into the correct site? — |

thank you! Figured it out… my web administrator gave me wrong location. |
Hi Jay, Could you confirm that you were able to install and activate Event Espresso? How about your support license key in General Settings? Is that also working? — |

confirmed: able to install and activate… and yes enjoying it… I have used one support key… what is the free one about? is that for the calendar? how do I implement that one? |
The free support license key (_Free) isn’t used with the premium version of Event Espresso. — |
