Hi,

We are currently running our first event with EE4. Right now we’ve had 53 transactions marked as complete in EE, but only 9 have appeared in PayPal. Very worried that these are not going through. I can’t find anything on EE’s end that would suggest something is incomplete or amiss.

Please let me know if you need any info from me in order to troubleshoot.

EE 4.4.8.p
Wordpress 4.0.1
Upgraded from EE3 recently

Hi Mike, if a payment is made then PayPal should always have a record of that payment.

Were you running any testing on this event with the PayPal sandbox (does not process real funds) or are these from the free option that is set?

Hi,

I’m not using sandbox, no. And the tickets marked as sold in Event Espresso are for dollar amounts, not free. They show as complete and successful in EE, but only a handful appear to have actually gone through in paypal.

Hi Mike, could you spot check a couple of those transactions:

From your WP-admin, go to Event Espresso –> Transactions. Now click on the date or ID of a transaction that you know is missing from PayPal.com.

This will take you to the transaction details screen for a specific transaction. In the payment details area, are you seeing a transaction ID for PayPal or is there a balance due?

It will looks similar to this but will reference PayPal instead of Authorizenet aim:

The reason why I ask is there is an option to automatically approve a registration regardless of the payment. I’m trying to determine if that happened here.

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks for the support with all my tickets this week. So I looked into it more and it looks like there’s no problem after all. I was missing the fact that the missing transactions were marked check or cash!

I gave directions for our registration coordinators signing people up in person on how to add a registrant manually, but didn’t realize that in EE4 you can mark them cash or check in a dropdown. I was missing that field until digging deeper into the transactions (the transaction view vs registration view was messing me up).

Anyways sorry for the hassle, and thanks for the responses! I believe I’m good to go.

Thanks for letting us know and I’m glad you got to the bottom of it!

I’m going to mark this as resolved. Should you wish to continue this discussion please create a new forum thread and link to this one. Thanks.
