When adding an event manually in the backend, there is no way to add a coupon to it.

Hi Dorain,

Registration or event?

With EE4 you set the events the promotion is valid on within the promotion itself, not the event.

Go to Event Espresso -> Promotions.

Edit the promotion and on the right sidebar you’ll see a ‘Promotion applies to…’ metabox. There you set which events the promotion can be applied to.

Like a customer would do at checkout by entering the coupon code. She was registering someone from the admin and cannot add their promo code.

It sounds like you meant to type “registration” when you typed “event”. Is that correct?

The Event Espresso admin does not include a promo code field. After you add the registration manually via the wp-admin, you’ll be taken to the transaction page. From there you can go to the transaction overview and you click on this icon . That will take you to the front end where you can input a promo code and even make a payment by credit card.
