EE4 – Links in Registration Pending Payment email not working

Hi guys,

A customer registered for a course and a short while later clicked on the links within the “registration Pending Payment” email to complete the payment but none of the links work.

Have resent them and issue remains.

When “Click for invoice” is clicked, the browser displays this message
“Unable to complete the request because the token is invalid. EE_Message_To_Generate_From_Request – _get_data_from_request – 99”

When link to make payment is clicked, browser opens to blank screen.

Further to the above.

Just took payment over the phone. Clicked on the link in the admin copy of email and it went to the payment options screen. clicked C/Card, accepted details then went to blank screen.

Waited a few mins and checked client status, shows as paid.

So there is some small bug in there 🙁

Was checking another registration and looked at transactions for this one.

Clicked on “Registration Details ” and in “Registration Items” it shows no items recorded, balance $0-00 but has a msg “The registrations’ share of the transaction total is approximate because it might not be possible to evenly divide the transaction total among each registration, and so some registrations may need to pay a penny more than others. This registration’s final share is actually $297.00 (AUD).”

The registration & course they selected was actually $297 so that is correct but with no item showing, this might be the cause of the problem.

Hi John,

This sounds like there are some issues with the registration getting unserialized improperly. Can you go to Event Espresso > General Settings > Admin Options and set “Encode Session Data?” to Yes, then click on Save?

This will help prevent the condition where you saw the blank screen.

Thank you.
Tried resending the registration and clicking on the link.
Still goes to blank screen.
Is it that the particular record is effected and the fix you provided will only work for future registrations?

Yes if the session was not serialized properly you will continue to have issues with that registration.

With the above change, if you add another do on the front end do you get the same problem with that registration?
