EE4 Inconsistent Payment Status Updating

I have recently started getting a lot of errors in the updating of the payment status for people registering and paying via PayPal. When I view “all registrations” I see several registrants listed as “incomplete”. When I view their registration details there is no transaction number lsited. Yet, when I go to PayPal, I can see the completed transactions. However, this is an intermittent problem. Some update properly, others do not.

I also have noticed when viewing the registrations for the event the number under the incomplete heading is incorrect and when I click on that link to see the incomplete registrations all the information under the name and email fields are missing.

Hi there,

When I view their registration details there is no transaction number lsited. Yet, when I go to PayPal, I can see the completed transactions.

So the registration status is Pending Payment, and the EE Transaction status is Incomplete, but when you view the PayPal transaction id for the payment it shows as complete?

Could you include a screenshot of what you see so we can follow better?

How is the number is wrong? Shows to many/few?

Incomplete registrations are registrations that have no details assigned to them, they are created when a ticket selection is made and then updated as the user adds details to the registrations.

As soon as the registration has contact details assigned to it is update from Incomplete to Pending Payment.

So the Incomplete registrations you see with no contact info do not relate to the transactions within PayPal.

Yes, I am using PayPal standard.

Your explanation about the incomplete listings answered my question about that issue. I was not thinking clearly.

I have seen other comments regarding similar issues and I have now updated to PayPal Express checkout.

You’ll find that PayPal Express is much more reliable.
