Hi, I have been working on some of the translation into french lately but, after following the process to change po&mo file names as well as creating the correct languages folder and uploading the files into it, I comme up with a registration process not including all of the translation I did. Please can someone help? Thanx! |
Hi there, You should not need to create additional language folders, Event Espresso creates the fodler within /wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/ Where did you create a language folder? What is the full filename of your PO and MO files please? |

Well, the langages folder doesn’t appear in a standard installation. |
What is the full filename of your PO and MO files please? It sounds like EE may only be using the side loaded translation file that we download from github when you select your language within Dashboard -> Settings -> General. |

Filnames are event_espresso-fr_FR.po and event_espresso-fr_FR.mo Thanx! |
Hi Jean-Francois, Your steps sound correct. Is this a WordPress multi-site install? Also for clarification, the PO file is for editing using a program like GlotPress. The MO file is actually read by your site. — |

Hi Lorenzo, This is not a multi-site install. Thanx! |
Some strings that can be edited through Event Espresso itself are not translated using MO files. For example the ‘Personal Information’ string is the name of a question group. If you go to Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> Question Groups. You’ll find the Personal Information question group, click that and you can edit the group name. The ‘Personal Information’ string within GlotPress is for that string, but it will only be translated on initial activation if you have the MO file installed at that time, after that the string is stored in the database so you’ll need to edit that manually. The same applies for the individual question themselves (Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> Questions) and the Confirmation email. You can edit the confirmation email by navigating to Event Espresso -> Messages. All of the messages can be edited there. Looking over your site it looks like the translation is working correctly, it’s just the string you edit through the admin that need to be translated π |
