Hi there! I’m using the EE4 pre-release of Core and Calendar. And we are not on the latest version of PHP – our hosting company doesn’t support it yet. So I don’t know if that’s the problem. Or if there’s some kind of bug that has not been addressed in the PRs. These are all the latest – just downloaded the plugin files yesterday.

Here’s a video diary of the problem: http://screencast.com/t/dD9hAuWIV

Can you help? I would not mind doing away with the calendar plugin if there was a way to tell WordPress to use the Events List page for the homepage, but it does not appear as an option in the Reading settings. Hope you can help – thanks!

Hi! The pre-release software is not recommended for use on a live site.

Does it work if you use a combination with the latest software?

On your workaround idea, you could add [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] to a WordPress page and then set that as an option in the reading settings of your WP dashboard.

Here are the other parameters that are available for that shortcode:

Hi Lorenzo! We’re just starting out with EE4, so our site is not live as of yet. Which is why we’re working the pr versions – because we need the promotions module and that would not install unless we were also using the pr of Core. I assumed I’d have to use the pr of the Event Calendar plugin if I’m using the pr of Core. Are you saying some PR modules work with the current version of Core and some don’t?

I will try the work around idea – thanks!

Hi Marianne, we cannot recommend any software in the pre-release channel for a live site. We are still actively testing and fixing bugs in the promotions add-on.

Once its ready, then we’ll announce it on our blog. Until them, we recommend testing on a staging / testing site.

Hi Lorenzo! As I mentioned in my previous post, we’re only getting underway implementing our new event system. It is not live yet. That is why it’s ok that we’re using your PR apps. We cannot go live until the Promo piece is working and will continue to use our current systems until that happens.

I’m assuming “pre release” is one stage closer to launching than “beta” – is that correct? Do you have an ETA on when the apps currently in pre-release will be launched? Please advise – thanks!

Hi Marianne,

That was a reminder for other members that may see your support post. We do not have a launch date at this time.

Thanks
