I’m having trouble finding how to customize the email reply when registration is approved. I created a custom message, but still getting the generic “Event Registration Details” in subject line, with “Here’s a copy of your registration details” in body of emails.

Hi,

The Registration Approved message with “Here’s a copy of your registration details!” is the Registrant message. Have you been editing that one or the Primary Registrant message? (it’s easy to mix them up).

When I’m in the actual event under the notifications listing, I created a custom message for Registration Approved, but my message doesn’t show up. I’m not sure what you mean by “the Registrant message, or the Primary Registrant message”.

Hi Erin, that is the correct area to change the setting. Is it currently set to use a global option?

If so, could you click on the custom option and then select your custom template? You should see the name of the custom template that you created.

If you don’t, then go to Event Espresso –> Messages. Then click on the custom templates tab and then ensure that you see your custom template there.

That’s what I did, but the email message is still not changing. I will try again to see if I get any different results. Thanks for the support!!!

Hi Erin,

Just to note, messages have multiple ‘contexts’ in which they are used.

Take a look here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/messages-system-working-with-message-contexts/

For details on editing specific contexts.

I’m not sure what you mean by “the Registrant message, or the Primary Registrant message”.

Those would be 2 different contexts in which the message is used. One template for the ‘Primary Registrant’ (the persons details that are input into the registration when selecting multiple tickets) or the ‘Registrant’ (each individual person that was entered within the registration)

Thank you so much as I was able to customize the email. But, now when a registration is approved, I get the customized email and another email with registration details. I can’t figure out how to turn off the generic email response, and just have my customized email.

Which contexts do you currently have active on the Registration Approved message type?

You can identify this by going to ‘Event Espresso -> Messages’

Fine the Registration Approved message type and look at the context links. Blue are active, grey are inactive – http://take.ms/K8wXh

In my screenshot I have the ‘Event Admin’ and ‘Registrant’ contexts active.

Also are you registering with the same email address as the Event Admin? This would mean you receive both those contexts to the same email.
