Hello,

I’m noticing that the confirmation email is being sent from our personal emails. How do we set it to send from our default/company email address.

Thanks.

Hi Edgar,

Please check the email address that is set in WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Your Organization. Then scroll down and take a look at the Primary Contact Email.

Thanks for the quick reply.

That was the very first thing I checked. It was already set to our company email.

Hello again,

Are you using a plugin like WP SMTP or is the email actually the email that belongs to to user that is creating the events through the Event Editor?

We are not using any email plugins. The confirmation emails are coming from our personal emails that are associated with our wp admin profiles. Events I create use my email, events my business partner creates use his email.

Not what we want. We want them to come from our company email, regardless of who creates the event.

Hello,

That would be for the Event Author. You could create a shared WordPress admin account and this would be used for creating events.

Another option is to toggle the author option in Screen Options for the Event Editor:

Then you can reassign the Event Author to another WordPress user account.

Well, I’ve tried several things. I even found that you can “change” the “from” on the email templates, but it doesn’t really do anything.

We can share one user account, but that is something I expect from a free plugin. EE3 was able to send emails from our company email regardless of who created the event. EE4 is suppose to be better, not worse.

All events are automatically shown in the main events page (dashboard side), and when the filter is set to upcoming, the events are not even in order. Event check-in is a pain as well, can’t create custom emails like ee3… It is all small stuff, but small stuff that is starting to add up.

Hi Edgar,

It is possible to set the Messages to use the Company Email Address.

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages. Depending on the type of events your are creating different messages are used.

Assuming the events are paid events and set up with the standard registration status settings, when a user registers onto an event they will receive a ‘Pending Payment email’ so we’ll edit that one: http://take.ms/keg0g

Notice how that message has 2 ‘contexts’ as in a Pending Payment message sent to the Primary Registrant will be different from Pending Payment message sent to the Event Admin, so be sure to click on the Primary Registrant link to edit that context. (Highlighted in the image above)

So by default you’ll see something like this: http://take.ms/rGl84

Notice we are within the ‘Primary Registrant’ and the shortcode in use within the ‘From’ field. That is what we need to change.

Within the Sidebar you’ll find the ‘Valid Shortcodes’ section which provides the shortcodes you can use within the section. If you look within the ‘From’ section there you’ll see you can use the [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL] shortcode – http://take.ms/hf9Ic

Place that shortcode within the ‘From’ section and then save that Message.

That will then set all ‘Pending Payment’ messages sent within Primary Registrant conext to use the Company Formatted Email within the From field.

This will need to be done within for any Message that the Registrant (Or Primary Registrant) may receive if you want all emails to come from the Company email.

Thank you for the feedback, EE4 is currently in Beta and without feedback we can not improve how it works. The Event Overview should sort by ID by default, although you can sort by ID, Name, Venue, Event Start & On Sale simply by clicking on those titles within the table. Is that not the case for yourself?

Could you provide more details on the issues with Event Check-in?

Each event can have a custom email, within the Event Editor you can set the Event to use a Custom Template for any of the Messages sent (bottom of the page) – http://take.ms/Qsgf9

Hello Tony,

The emails from company email is fixed. Thanks.

The way events populate on when you click events is annoying, being that I’m used to how ee3 did it, but I can live with it.

Now I know I can change emails to custom templates per event, but I can’t seem to be able to email event attendees like in ee3. What if I want to send an email saying that the event is canceled, or time/venue change. Send an FAQ email, things like that. Is that done through the custom templates? EE3 you clicked a button that said “email attendees”

Thanks

Hi Edgar,

This is not currently available in EE4 but we do have something in the works.

For now, we recommend exporting the registrant information and importing into a free email marketing service like MailChimp.

Then you can send an email to all of the attendees for this event.

Sorry forgot to add this in the previous message.

As for the check-in. When click on the event’s attendees, and click on the check-in tab, it sends me to all attendees past, present, and future. Why could it not just populate with the attendees from the event I picked. Again, it’s as easy as having to re-filter to the correct class once in the check-in tab, but if I had already chosen that event why not just populate with attendees of only that event.

The Check-in screen is its own screen. If you click to that tab from another, you’ll need to select your event from the dropdown list to apply the filter.

Going back to the email issue. You recommend exporting emails to mailchimp, or other email marketing service.

That can cause legal issues. If the attendee is not willfully signing up for mailchimp and I export them to it, there is a slight chance of a law suit. People need to willfully signup, or else it is illegal.

Thanks for the feedback.

You could create a question with a checkbox option that says:

Yes, I would like to receive updates and reminders for this event.

Then add this question to a question group and link to your event.
