I started with a clean database using Reset/Delete Data in Maintenance settings. I entered an event with several datetimes and several tickets. I then registered a test user for one ticket paying by cheque. No transactions. When I deleted the registration I got the following error message:
An error has occurred:
This Attendee is currently linked to one or more Event records. If this Attendee is incorrect, then please remove it from all Events before attempting to delete it.
The attendee is in only one event – the registration being deleted. The registration appears to be deleted ok and the user is not in the contact list so the deletion appears to have been done correctly. Why do I get this error message? Am I doing something wrong? Have I orphaned records?
I can also see this message come up. I’ll get a developer to look into it. To answer your questions, I don’t believe this will cause any issues, the registration and transaction data have both been removed correctly even with this message appearing.
Thanks Dean. I’m glad you found it. Maybe this will also help correct a long standing problem I have had with not having a delete feature for contact list records. People in the contact list that are not associated with any registrations can be put into trash but cannot be deleted.
We will update your support post once a fix is available for the messaging.
