I’m transitioning from EE3 to EE4. The month is not showing in the Class Calendar View. Please tell me how to make it appear.

By the way, the days of the week and the forward and backward arrows also don’t show up in this calendar.

Hi,

In Event Espresso > Calendar > Advanced Settings tab, do the fields there have any data?

E.g. do they look like this? http://take.ms/kYkzg

No, all of the boxes are blank. Should I click on Reset Calendar Settings?

Hi, when you went through the upgrade process, did you overwrite the existing calendar plugin for Event Espresso 3 or did you download and install it through WordPress admin –> Plugins –> Add New.

Since the Calendar plugin was separate, I’m pretty sure I activated it separately, as I did with the Table View plugin. So, to answer your question, I think the latter (WordPress admin –> Plugins –> Add New).

I still have Event Espresso – Calendar 2.2.4 in my plugins, just deactivated. In fact, I still have Event Espresso – Custom Template Display 1.0, and Event Espresso 3.1.36.6.P in my WP Plugins. They’re all deactivated, just sitting there, as I wanted to make sure I had EE4 running well before deleting altogether. Does that help diagnose the problem? And is it safe yet to delete all three of those plugins?

Hi, they do not need to be deleted but they should be deactivated. What is the version number for the Event Espresso 4 calendar and what is the calendar shortcode that is in use on that page?

I have Event Espresso – Calendar (EE 4.3+) v.3.2.1.p installed and activated. And the code on that page is:

[raw][ESPRESSO_CALENDAR][/raw]

Hi,

If the Event Espresso > Calendar > Advanced Settings tab fields are blank, then either add some content or do the reset.

Please BACKUP your site first as a precaution, if you choose to do the reset.

Hi, Dean. Since I have no idea what had been in the settings previous to the upgrade, and a reset sounds risky, let me ask you this: What if I were to deactivate Event Espresso – Calendar (EE 4.3+) v.3.2.1.p and activate Event Espresso – Calendar 2.2.4? Would I find the settings still there? If so, I could make note of those settings, and reverse what I just did (deactivate 2.2.4 and activate 3.2.1), and enter them there. Or, could I go back to 2.2.4 and make the transition to 3.2.1 differently (assuming that I did it wrong in the first place)? Or, is there a particular file in my backup that would house the settings I need (in which case, I’d need your help in navigating to that file, and steps to replace the current one with that one)? Whatever seems simplest and safest is the way I’d to go.

Him

The backup is just a precaution but the “safest” way would be to manually add the data in. Here is a list of the default calendar settings:

Header Style Left
Left: prev, today
Center: title
Right: month, agendaWeek, agendaDay, next

Button Text
Previous: ‹
Next: ›
Previous Year: «
Next Year: »
Today: today
Month: month
Week: week
Day: day

Title Format
Month: MMMM yyyy
Week: MMM dS[ yyyy] – {[ MMM] dS yyyy}
Day: dddd, MMM dS, yyyy

Column Format
Month: ddd
Week: ddd M/d
Day: dddd M/d

That worked beautifully, Dean. Thank you, again. I’ll mark this one as resolved.

I have this problem. I upgraded from EE3 to EE4. It works, but on my calendar page I don’t see any headings, such as what is the current month, days of the week, etc.

My Advanced Settings fields were blank, and I went and manually entered the data as above, but I don’t see any difference. I also don’t see a button to reset my calendar settings to the default. My calendar is here:

O, I got it to work now. I needed to re-publish the page with the shortcode.. which is odd. Maybe it was a cache issue.
