In EE3 I could set a total attendee limit but in EE4 I can only set a per ticket limit. Is there a way to set a total limit?
For example, we have an event called Apparel Construction. It’s offered in two options during the term; Apparel I – basics and Apparel II – advanced. But you can also buy BOTH at a reduced cost, so if I put an attendee limit of 20 for I and 20 for I – what can I put for the third? Before we offered the class in such a way that we just had 20 spaces total and each ticket had a different price (although they weren’t called tickets in EE3).

I’m beginning to wonder if we shouldn’t just use the latest EE3… what do you think?

Hi, you can set this up through the Event datetime:

The July 14th example has an overall limit of 50. The July 20th example has an overall limit of 20 and the July 28th example has no limit.

Yes, you are correct. What we’re trying to do is this:

Basic on the 15th has a limit of 20
Advanced on the 19th has a limit of 20
Buy both Basic and Advanced at the same time and get a price break (the limit doesn’t work for this third example)

Make sense?

Hi there,

One of the cooler new features in ee4 is you can create a ticket and make it good for both date times and set quantity limits for each datetime. Here’s a screenshot that helps illustrate:

Hmmm… My brain hurts reading that paragraph…
So in my scenario – I click the wheel icon next to each Datetime Title and three ‘event datetimes’ bars show up (Representing the three tickets I created: Basic, Advanced & Both). Each ticket bar has a checkbox – and this is where I can have not only a reduction in the seats available for the ONE class, but for the 2-fer class option. And then… the 2-fer option would have all three checked?

Did I pass? I need a cocktail.

What does the Ticket Limit look like in your sample? Are there limits there as well?

Hi,

Basically you will have 2 date times, one for Apparel 1 (App 1) and one for Apparel 2 as these are the events.

You will then have three tickets, one to buy for App 1, one for App 2 and one for both.

The first ticket you will click the cog icon and apply it to datetime one (App 1), the second ticket would be applied to datetime two. The third ticket would be applied to both.

Example after someone has purchase a Both ticket http://take.ms/RFTtt

Regarding ticket limit, it shouldn’t matter as when the datetime limit has been reached it will shut of the ticket. that being said there is no harm in matching the limits, so 20 in everything.
