First of all I must say I am impressed with EE, but (yes there is a but π ) it has made things a bit more difficult than I first anticipated. Now that I have come te see the power of EE I need to rethink my website. My initial idea was to integrate events into pages I already made but now I know I should just use the event pages as the actual pages. But as a noob it’s very hard to make these event pages look good as EE doesn’t support the page builder of my theme (Divi) Is there a way to do this that I have overlooked? if not does EE support other page builders like Visual Composer? |
Hi, what changes are you trying to make to the page and is this the single event page? — |

I want my event pages to look more like this |
I will try to explain what I am trying to do. There is a portal to my pages. It works perfect but my boss also wants a calendar. And this is giving me a headache as this leads to the EE event pages |
Ok I found workaround to my problem. The alternative registration page option in events. |
Seems like that was not the workaround I hoped for. When I add a page to “alternative registration page” in the event registration options the ticket selector on that page will disappear. π |
Hi, what if you add the ticket selector via a shortcode to the event description area? — |
Ho Lorenzo. That is what I did. I add a shortcode to the existing pages. That works perfect. Problem is that when someone uses the calendar plugin they will be sent to an EE created event page. I want people to end up at the same page all the time. I thought adding the existing pages as “alternative registration page” would circumvent people being sent to different pages but when I do this the shortcode disappears from the existing page. |

Hi, EE Events are Custom Post Types and behave like posts rather than pages. As such Page Builders will generally not work with EE. The Alternative Reg Page will definitely have problems in that situation as it is designed to push users to another page or site instead of showing the registration/ticketing forms, so the shortcode will be stripped. One option would be a redirect plugin – it’s more work as each one will need to be set up, but it’s an option. Barring that you could try to redesign the event template to make it look more like what you need without relying on a separate page. This would require PHP knowledge and/or a developer. |
