I currently have EE3. The only reason is that EE4 did (does?) not support recurring events. I am considering moving away from the Event Espresso platform because I have experienced multiple complaints with my attendees having to enter SO MUCH info just to buy a ticket to my show. Example… a Mom is bringing her husband, 2 kids, 2 seniors and 2 military. The platform wants info (Name Address Phone number) for ALL of the different types of tickets. My guests get frustrated half way through and just quit and buy tickets where they only have to give the information for ONE person (the one buying the tickets). Then in their email, they only get one ticket that does not reflect the rest of the people / tickets in their reservation! I am constantly getting calls asking… “Where are the rest of my tickets?” I am constantly explaining to them that they are all there but the email just sends one image of a ticket…. it seems very unprofessional (and I have been told as much)

So.. my question is this… in EE4… does it support recurring events… In other words… If I am doing a show EVERY Saturday at 5 for the entire year… I just have to build the event ONCE and not each and every time?

Other question… is there ANY WAY my guests (usually families with seniors, kids, military… multiple ticket classifications) can buy a ticket without being asked for the names and addresses of their kids, the names and address of the seniors, the names and addresses of the military… its FAR too much information to request from a family who’s on vacation and is simply wanting to come see a show? Its very frustrating for them and its costing me ticket sales. I know that there is a “COPY FROM” option but they are not seeing it and by the time they get there they are already pissed off and have decided not to buy tickets at all.

Don’t get me wrong… I love EE and I think it has some good options. However, it doesn’t seem designed for A. Established shows that have multiple dates for the same show. B. Families that do not wish to share the personal details of EVERYONE in their party.

What can we do? I know my license just renewed but I am seriously thinking about leaving unless theses issues can be resolved.

ALSO… The iPhone app that I use to scan their tickets is not compatible with IOS 11. Is that going to be address soon?

Thank you … also.. this email being the only way to communicate business.. SUCKS!! It never fails that the questions are not answered in the response email which costs more time filling out yet another email which ultimately doesn’t answer the question which causes yet another email and so on and so forth! HIGHLY inefficient and wreaks of lacking customer service.

Not currently, Recurring Events functionality has not been built for EE4 yet. That said, you could use the multiple datetime feature to publish multiple Saturday shows within one event, which might work out for you.

Yes. You can set the registration form to not ask any questions of additional attendees. In the Event Options box, you set “Additional Attendee Registration info?” to “No info required”.

ALSO… The iPhone app that I use to scan their tickets is not compatible with IOS 11. Is that going to be address soon?

No. The reason is because iOS 11 does not support 32-bit apps.

I wonder if you’re sending email to an address that’s not used by Event Espresso staff? If you need email support please be sure to send the email to this address:

support at eventespresso.com

If you’re sending email to the above address and you do not get a reply then that means we’re not receiving your email. In which case you can contact us via the support forums (as you’ve done here) or if it’s a sales related question, you can contact the sales team via their secure form.

Josh, Do you have any sense for when recurring event functionality will be added to EE4? I’m just getting my feet wet with EE and if I have to roll back to EE3, it may not be too late but I don’t want to do that if recurring events are eminent.

Hi Doug in Texas,

The release of recurring events for Event Espresso 4 is not imminent. The work to develop it has yet to be started, there is still planning work to be done.
